The Bones Tour '90
It was a cold wet drizzly day. We all took the day off school. We all were very excited, we had never seen professional skaters before. The Bones Brigade were the big team those days, they were like Gods.
We went down to the bowl, we thought that Tony Hawk, Mike McGill, and Lance Mountain would probably want to skate before the demo. We thought that the bowl would be one of the places that they would like to skate at.
As the morning wore on we became cold and weary. We decided that maybe we should go down to the ramp in St. Clair where the demo was going to be. We were the first people there.
Around 11 o'clock a van pulled up. It was them. We looked at them. We were scared to speak to them. Eventually Arron and I picked up enough courage to go and talk to them. I had a pen, so we asked them for their autographs. We didn't have anything for them to write on, so they signed our boards, T-shirts and even one persons arm.
Tony sat in the van looking out at the wet weather. Lance got out and had a walk around and looked at the vert ramp and a talk with us.
The vert ramp had just been built and Lance thought it was pretty cool.
They all hoped back in the van and left. We were all pretty happy, we had talked to the Bones Brigade. We chose the place where we were going to watch the demo. We found a sheet of tin and erected a makeshift shelter. It was still raining.
The Coke people arrived and set up the speakers and the fences. We had been there really early, so they had to put the fences around us. They said we didn't need to pay.
People started to arrive. There were hundreds of people there. Lots of skaters I'd never seen before. Some people had even skipped school exams to come.
It was still raining. There was some uncertainty about the demo. It was too wet and cold for Tony, Lance and Mike to skate. The Coke people said that they would wait a little longer.
The rain stopped. The covers were lifted, and a guy with a broom came on and swept the water off the ramp. Still more people were arriving. Some kids got on their boards and skated to dry the ramp off. There was talk about the demo being called off, the ramp being too slippery to skate on.
Then...up pulled the van.
Out stepped Tony, Lance and Mike. They got out and skated, and blew our minds away. They were the first pro skaters we had ever seen. They skated hard. Lance found it difficult to skate because it was so cold. We understood and cheered, every time any of them did a trick. Lance warmed up and skated well. Tony Hawk did some really big tricks. We all cheered, yelled and screamed. They went off. They did McTwists. That was the big trick those days. We had never seen it before. They skated for ages.

Then it looked like they were finished, then one of them got a video camera out and started filming. All three of them were skating at once on the ramp. We had never seen anyone skate like they did. We yelled and cheered louder.

Then they were finished for good. They sat on the platform of the ramp and signed things for people. Eventually they hopped back in the van and left.
About six or seven months later a video came out called "Ban This", and in it for about two or three seconds is a shot of the St. Clair Ramp, and the Bones Brigade skating on it.
